Questions
Why is PCO 1881 lighter?
The neck is shorter and thinner, and the neck does not stretch during blowing, so the PET saved goes straight to the price. The difference from PCO 1810 is about 1.3 g per preform.
Will a PCO 1810 cap fit?
No. The thread and the tamper band position differ, so caps for the two standards are not interchangeable. Switching to PCO 1881 usually means new caps and capper adjustment.
Does it work for carbonated drinks?
Yes, PCO 1881 is widely used for sparkling water and lemonades. Choose a preform from the upper end of the weight range for your bottle size.
Not sure about the standard?
Send a photo of the neck next to a ruler and we will tell you which preform fits.
