Drinking and mineral water
Still and sparkling water in 0.5, 1 and 1.5 litre bottles. Still water works across the whole weight range; sparkling water needs the upper end.
What matters when choosing a preform
Sparkling water presses on the walls from inside, so it needs a heavier preform and a bottle with a petaloid base. Still water lets you save PET with lighter items.
Blue is the familiar colour for drinking water and makes the bottle look cooler. Clear shows how clean the water is. Both are in the catalogue.
Water shows off-tastes sooner than other drinks. That is why bottle-grade virgin PET matters, and so does storing preforms dry, out of the sun and away from odours.
At volume, every 2-3 g per bottle adds up to tonnes of PET. 100,000 bottles a month with a preform 2.5 g lighter save 250 kg of PET.

Open the selectorCommon questions
Which preform should I use for 0.5 L water?
For 0.5 L still water we recommend 21.7 g PCO 1881. For savings, 19.2 g works; for a stiffer bottle or sparkling water, use 24 g.
Blue or clear?
It is a branding choice. Blue is familiar for water; clear stresses purity and suits lines that bottle other drinks too.
Can one preform be blown into different bottle sizes?
Sometimes, if the sizes are close and the moulds are designed for one preform. But preform weight and length are matched to a specific bottle, so check against your mould.
