The route to Almaty: 730 km on the A2 highway
Almaty is the country's largest market, about 730 km from our warehouse in Temirlanovka. Trucks run east on the A2 highway through Shymkent, Taraz, Merke and Korday. At Korday the road comes close to the Kyrgyz border but does not cross it, so the whole trip stays inside Kazakhstan with no border formalities. From there the road climbs over the Kurday pass and descends to Almaty.
The travel time is an estimate: road distance divided by average speed, excluding loading, stops and driver rest. In winter the pass can see snow and temporary traffic restrictions, so from December to February build some slack into your schedule. Route points and distances are on our Almaty delivery page.

Batch planning: fewer trips, full trucks
On a long haul, delivery cost per bottle is lowest when the truck is full. So for Almaty it is easier to think not in terms of weekly needs but in terms of how many boxes fit in a truck, and fit the schedule around that.
Boxes = bottles per month ÷ preforms per box; trucks = boxes ÷ 26 placesExample: 400,000 bottles of 0.5 L from a 21.7 g preform. 400,000 ÷ 12,672 ≈ 31.6, so 32 boxes, or 1.2 trucks: one full truck plus 6 boxes that are better added to the next shipment or topped up with another item.
| Bottles per month | 39.4 g: boxes | 39.4 g: trucks | 21.7 g: boxes | 21.7 g: trucks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100,000 | 13 | 0.5 | 8 | 0.3 |
| 200,000 | 26 | 1.0 | 16 | 0.6 |
| 400,000 | 51 | 2.0 | 32 | 1.2 |
| 800,000 | 102 | 3.9 | 64 | 2.5 |
If your company has sites in both Taraz and Almaty, ask about one truck with two drop-offs: Taraz is right on the route, 220 km from our warehouse. We discuss such options when quoting delivery.
On a long haul the winner is not the buyer who orders most often, but the one who orders early and in full trucks.
Your stock between deliveries
The less often trucks arrive, the more space your store needs. The chart shows an example plant using 200,000 preforms of 39.4 g a month with a safety stock of 50,000. With monthly deliveries peak stock is about 32 boxes; with deliveries every two weeks about 20. But in the second case each truck runs half empty.

When to order: a delivery calendar for Almaty
Late October is a convenient moment to set the schedule for winter and spring. The summer peak is over, lines are calmer, and you can agree shipments in advance instead of hunting for a truck mid-season.
- October-November: build your winter stock before snow and frost reach the pass.
- December-February: order with extra lead time and condition every batch in a warm shop.
- March-April: fill your store for the season before demand for water and drinks rises.
- May-September: peak sales, full trucks on an agreed schedule.
Astana and northern Kazakhstan: general rules
We also ship preforms to other regions of Kazakhstan by arrangement. Astana, Karaganda, Pavlodar and other northern cities are farther than Almaty, and winters there are longer and colder. We will give the route and timing for your city when we quote, but the general rules are:
- send full trucks and combine items in one shipment;
- hold more stock than in Almaty: cover the time from order to unloading plus a safety margin;
- build your winter stock in autumn while roads are easier;
- for small batches, ask carriers about groupage terms;
- paperwork is the same as anywhere in Kazakhstan: contract, invoice, ESF and release note.
